Want to experience something different this year for Halloween instead of the standard “trick-or-treaters”? Walk back in time with us into the depths of the Forest Cathedral in Cook Forest State Park with an historical character from the past. Come view the ancient forest as we walk beneath the giants by candlelight within the picturesque Tom’s Run Valley. Either a French Marine from the 1750’s who saw these massive trees 250 years ago, or a lumberman from the 1800’s will be there to guide us. Program begins at the Log Cabin Inn Environmental Learning Classroom. Bring your flashlights! (2 hrs)

The legend lives on… but this year, the terror has escaped the barn. The Haunted Barn that thrilled and chilled visitors for years has transformed into something even more terrifying: The Haunted Trail.
Follow the twisting path through the dark woods, where shadows move, whispers echo, and every turn hides something waiting to make you scream. The safety of four walls is gone—you’re exposed, vulnerable, and never quite sure what’s lurking in the trees.
Locals remember the Haunted Barn as a must-do every fall, and now the fear has been reborn in a brand-new setting. Come walk the Haunted Trail… if you dare.

One of Brookville's favorite fall traditions! After Halloween, families gather to send their pumpkins rolling down the steep hill of Pickering Street (known as Shanghai to the locals) in a race of laughter, cheers, and pumpkin pieces.
The event is organized by PATHS (Parents and Teachers Helping Students) with help from the Brookville Fire Department. When the last pumpkin crosses the finish line, everyone pitches in to gather the remains, which are donated to a local farm.
It's simple, it's mess, and it's pure small-town fun! The kind of memory that sticks with you long after the pumpkins are gone.
Meet at the corner of Pickering and Church Streets. Divided into age groups, races begin at 2pm.
